Day 3

We woke up to another delicious meal at Natalya’s. Porridge, French toast (savory) cheese, meat, honey and more awesome Kaffe :).

We drove out to the village to visit some of the original founders of the Lord’s Army church in Moldova. They told tales of Bible smuggling and fed us a delicious morning “dessert”. We had several additional / impromptu village home stops and it was so interesting to see the way people lived in the country. Such simple lives. We then visited the grocery store to purchase dinner for the bus ride that evening.

After our shopping spree we stopped by McDonald’s for lunch (this was against my will believe me ☺). We ascertained however that the general food quality was far above that of McDonald’s in the states. We walked a bit, through a local square where they were selling lots of local souvenirs. Next stop church where we were given an introduction and asked to give spontaneous speeches about ourselves to the congregation. We go our first taste of Moldovian singing and Mark also preached. After the service we were off, onto the bus for the long trip to the camp. It was rather warm and we soon saw the rational of leaving in the evening so that the bus could utilize the cool outside air. The boarder crossing was interesting and the Romanian side held up the bus for 30-40 minutes. Apparently with it’s new admittance into the EU comes additional responsibilities to control their boarders.
